Anoka County Jail Roster

The Anoka County jail roster is a public resource that allows anyone to look up individuals currently held in the Anoka County Jail or Workhouse in Minnesota. AnokaCourt.us can help you find publicly available information about current and recent inmates. You can also access jail roster information through the Anoka County Sheriff's Office Inmate Locator, by visiting the jail in person, or by calling the facility directly. The roster lets the public confirm whether someone is in custody, view booking details, and check charges. Maintained by the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, the online Inmate Locator covers both the jail and the workhouse and includes records for individuals currently in custody as well as those recently released.

Search Current Inmates in Anoka Jail

There are several ways to search for someone currently held in the Anoka County Jail or Workhouse.

Online Search

  1. Visit AnokaCourt.us to search for publicly available court record information related to individuals in Anoka County.
  2. Go to the official Inmate Locator on the Anoka County Sheriff's Office website. This tool covers both the jail and the workhouse.
  3. Enter the individual's last name (and optionally first name) or booking number into the search fields.
  4. Review the results, which display public information for people currently in custody or recently released.

To begin a search, you will need at least the person's full legal name. A booking number, if known, can help narrow results quickly.

Find Anoka Jail Booking Records Online

A booking record is created each time an individual is processed into the Anoka County Jail or Workhouse. During booking, jail staff record key details about the arrest and the person being held.

Information typically generated at booking includes:

  • Booking number
  • Date and time of booking
  • Charges at the time of intake
  • Arresting agency
  • Basic identifying information (name, date of birth)

The easiest way to access booking records online is through the Inmate Locator, which displays public booking data for current and recently released individuals. For court case details tied to a booking — such as criminal complaints, hearing dates, or case dispositions — use Minnesota Court Records Online (MCRO) and select Anoka County from the county list.

If you need records beyond what the online tools provide, you can submit a public data request to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office may assess fees for data requests as allowed by Minnesota statute.

Search the Anoka Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number

The Inmate Locator supports two primary search methods:

  • By last name: Enter the person's last name. You can add a first name to narrow results if the last name is common.
  • By booking number: If you have a booking number from a prior lookup, court document, or bail paperwork, enter it directly for a precise match.

Tips for Better Results

  • Use the person's full legal name — nicknames and aliases may not appear in the system.
  • Double-check spelling. A single misspelled letter can cause the search to return no results.
  • If the roster supports partial name searches, try entering just the first few letters of the last name to broaden results.
  • If your browser's built-in find function (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) is available on a browsable list view, use it to scan for a name quickly.

No Results?

If your search returns nothing, consider these possibilities:

  • The person may not yet be fully processed into the system — there can be a delay between arrest and the record appearing online.
  • The person may have already been released. The Inmate Locator includes recently released individuals, but records do not stay online indefinitely.
  • The name may be spelled differently in official records. Try alternate spellings or check with the jail by calling 763-422-7500.
  • The person may be held in a different facility. For individuals in Minnesota state correctional facilities, use the Minnesota Department of Corrections search tool.

Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Anoka

The Anoka County Inmate Locator is updated on a regular basis, but it is not instantaneous. There is typically a processing delay between the time someone is booked into the jail and when their record appears in the online system. The length of this delay can vary depending on intake volume and staffing.

Key Limitations to Keep in Mind

  • Processing delays: A newly arrested person may not show up on the roster for several hours after booking.
  • Released individuals: Records for people who have been released remain visible for a limited time. Once removed, they are no longer searchable through the Inmate Locator.
  • Not a historical archive: The roster reflects current and recent custody status only. It is not a comprehensive database of all past bookings in Anoka County.
  • Data entry lags: Charge information or other details may be updated after the initial booking record is posted, so what you see online may not reflect the most current status.
  • Restricted records: Juvenile records, sealed cases, and certain protected information are excluded from the public roster under Minnesota law.

For older booking records or historical data not available through the Inmate Locator, submit a data request to the Sheriff's Office. For court-side records including criminal complaints and case outcomes, visit Anoka County Court Records or search through MCRO.
